No account is required. Cloud backups are optional, require Google or Discord sign-in, and run only when you press a backup button. Transfers use HTTPS encryption and private backup objects use Cloudflare-managed encryption at rest.

Is this a 3DX mod?+
No. It is an external Windows companion. It does not inject into, patch, or modify 3DXChat.
How does sending work?+
The app detects the visible 3DX chat input and uses brief Windows mouse, clipboard, and keyboard simulation. Your cursor is restored after sending.
Why might Windows show a warning?+
The application is not yet code-signed. Download only from this official release repository and verify the included SHA-256 checksum if desired.
Do I need a Google or Discord account?+
Only for optional cloud backups and Friends. Every local hosting feature remains available while signed out or offline, and signing in does not upload anything until you explicitly start a backup.
What does adding a friend share?+
Nothing automatically. Friends can currently see one another’s display name and avatar. Phrase, Room File, and co-host sharing will require explicit actions when those features are introduced.
Is Co-Hosting ready for normal use?+
Not yet. Version 0.7.0 is a wholly untested first pass that requires two accepted friends. Please treat it as experimental, avoid relying on it for important sessions, and provide detailed feedback about connection, synchronization, sending, and turn-order behavior.
Are cloud backups encrypted?+
Yes. Transfers use HTTPS/TLS encryption and private backup objects are encrypted at rest by Cloudflare R2. Access requires an authenticated Companion account. This is managed cloud encryption, not end-to-end encryption with a user-held key, so no online service can honestly promise that theft is impossible.
Does it support Venue Host or Greeter mode?+
Venue Host and Greeter are visible in the Hosting Mode switcher as future modes, but neither is included in the current release.
